New Public Park opened in Khazzan Neighborhood
The USAID-Aqaba Community and Economic Development (ACED) Program, the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and the local community celebrated the opening of a new public park in the Khazzan Neighborhood on November 8, 2010.
The Khazzan Neighborhood Enhancement Team (NET), which is actively working in the neighborhood since March 2009, coordinated efforts with all related stakeholders to translate the needs of residents into projects.
The first NET project was to have a safe play area for children, and a social gathering place for the families, and this need was translated into the park project.
ASEZA donated the land and supervised the work in the park, and the USAID-ACED Program funded the construction of the surrounding walls and pathways; and provided the playground equipment.
The Park was established under the Neighborhood Development Activity which is an ASZEA initiative, Implemented by Jordan River Foundation and Funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) - ACED Program.
