VACANCY- Radio Station Content Management Consultant

The Aqaba Community and Economic Development (ACED) Program is a United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded program, benefiting the people and businesses of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone. The ACED Program seeks to recruit a Jordanian short-term Radio Station Content Management Consultant to work on developing programs for a Radio Station in Aqaba for a period of 4 to 5 months (maximum 40 working days).

Main Responsibilities:

·         Develop the radio station brief business plan including a mission and vision.

·         Design a grid of various interactive programs to address the goals, challenges and achievements of the Aqaba community.

·         Develop the branding of the radio station by drafting the request for proposals and launching a competition for the best presented brand.

·         Assist ASEZA recruit and interview personnel from existing ASEZA employees to staff the radio station.

·         Assist in the solicitation and oversight of training programs for the radio station staff.

·         Provide on-the-job training to the radio station staff.

·         Establish contacts and cooperate with other local, regional and international radio stations.

 

Educational Requirements:

·         The consultant should have a BA in a related field.

·         At least 10 years of professional experience working with TV and/or radio stations.

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

·         Previous experience in Aqaba is a plus.

Competitiveness Expert, Business Analyst and Graphic Designer
The ACED Program seeks to recruit Jordanian Experts for the following positions to work jointly in developing and designing a set of Business Investment Tools including Investment Brochures, Investment Opportunity Profiles and Cost of Doing Business Guide for Aqaba Special Economic Zone: 
A. Competitiveness Expert/Team Leader: Main responsibilities (AP/COM02/004) (60 working days)
  • Conduct relevant desk and field research, data analysis, review and benchmarking, workshops and consultations with key stakeholders and project partners 
  • Develop the entire contents of ASEZ Investment Brochure including text material, charts, tables, pictures and other contents in English and Arabic languages
  • Develop 15 investment opportunity profile contents in English and Arabic languages 
  • Develop ASEZ Cost of Doing Business Guide in English and Arabic languages
  • Education, Experience and Skills
  • University degree in economics, business administration, management, or relevant field. Masters or PhD is a plus
  • At least 10 years of professional working experience in economics & competitiveness related studies, investments marketing and investment mapping. 
B. Business Analyst/ Researcher: Main responsibilities (AP/COM02/005) (60 working days)
  • Conduct relevant desk and field research, data analysis, review and benchmarking 
  • Assist the Competitiveness Expert in developing the contents of ASEZ Investment Brochure and the 15 investment opportunity profiles.
  • Collect the actual costs and rates for the different general and sector specific cost items that exist in ASEZ.
  • Education, Experience and Skills
  • University degree in economics, business administration, management, or relevant field. Master's degree is a plus
  • At least 6 years of professional working experience in a similar capacity, including at least 3 years in competitiveness related studies, investments marketing and investment mapping. 

C. Graphic Designer: Main responsibilities (AP/COM02/006) (15 working days)
  • Prepare ready to print designs for ASEZ Investment Brochure and the 15 investment opportunity profiles and setting them in a presentable format consistent with corporate identity brand and image.
  • Education, Experience and Skills
  • University degree in graphic design or related field
  • At least 3 years of professional working experience in graphic design
  • General Requirements for all positions:
  • Ability to document and produce reports in a clear and concise manner in Arabic and English. 
  • Previous working experience in Special Zones /ASEZ is preferred

The Aqaba Community and Economic Development (ACED) Program is a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded program, benefiting the people and businesses of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone. The ACED Program seeks to recruit two Jordanian short-term Management and Supervision Skills Training Consultants. The assignment will be in Aqaba for a maximum of 35 work days each over a period of three months. 

Main responsibilities:
· Deliver a Management Skills Training program for a local governmental organization.
· Conduct a Train of Trainers program for a selected group of staff of a local governmental organization to deliver this training in the future. 

Qualifications:
· The expert should have a university degree in Business Administration or similar fields. A Masters degree is preferred. 
· At least 10 years of professional working experience in facilitation, coaching, training and capacity building with at least of 4 years in public sector, and/or special economic zones.
· Proven record to deliver training and capacity building in managerial and supervisory skills is a must.
· Proven record to deliver training and capacity building in soft skills is a plus.
· Excellent communication and analysis skills.
· Excellent report writing skills.
· Previous experience in Aqaba or with local governmental institutions is a plus.
· Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

The Aqaba Community and Economic Development (ACED) Program is a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded program, benefiting the people and businesses of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone. The ACED Program seeks to recruit two Jordanian short-term Quality Services Improvement/Capacity Building Consultants. The assignment will be in Aqaba for a maximum of 40 work days each over a period of six months. 

Main responsibilities:
· Assist ASEZA in improving its quality services. 
· Attend Quality Services Improvement Program (QSIP) Training of Trainers.   
· Conduct field visits to administrative offices to observe and advise staff on service quality improvement.
· Assist in revising and customizing training materials and tools (if needed).
· Provide capacity building and training for ASEZA staff.
· Participate in preparation and facilitation of QSIP workshops.
· Deliver Building Customer Service Skills (BCSS) training for ASEZA front-line employees.
· Provide recommendations for QSIP improvements, applicability and sustainability for ASEZA Service Improvement.

Qualifications:
· University degree in Business Administration or similar field. Master’s degree preferred.
· At least 10 years of professional experience in service improvement and capacity building with at least 4 years’ experience in public sector, and/or special economic zones.
· Experience delivering training and capacity building in Quality Services.

Mission Director Visits Ceradisi and Sky Gate Projects in Wadi Rum


Aqaba- The USAID Mission Director Ms. Beth Paige visited Disi and Wadi Rum where she met with the Disi Women Association and representatives of the Bedouin community. Through USAID’s Community Prosperity Initiative, the Disi Women Association implements the Ceradisi Ceramics project, training and employing 15 women from the Disi area on the design, manufacturing and marketing of locally made ceramics. The products are sold at the Association’s shop in the Wadi Rum visitor center and at Souk by the Sea, a weekly market in Aqaba sponsored by the ADC and USAID. Ms. Paige was impressed by the products and the professionalism of the women achieving remarkable results.

During her visit to Wadi Rum, the Mission Director also launched the Aqaba Astronomical Association’s training program that will teach 15 young men from the Rum Area to work as astronomy guides. Through this USAID- sponsored “Sky Gate” project, tourists will be able to explore the night sky in Wadi Rum with a high end telescope in a purpose built observatory within the protected area. 

The Aqaba Community and Economic Development (ACED) Program is a USAID-funded program, benefitting the people and businesses of Aqaba Special Economic Zone. The program is funding several projects such as the Neighborhood Development Activity to increase citizen participation, the Community Prosperity Initiative to combat poverty, and the Capacity Building program to support NGOs in Aqaba governorate, as well as technical support to ASEZA.
